Griffith University Active Learning Space

Griffith University

Transforming Learning Through Flexibility, Technology, and Collaboration

DM2 Architecture designed the Griffith University Active Learning Space, a dynamic hub that brings together students, staff, and the wider community in a technology-enabled, student-focused environment.

By combining multiple rooms into a single flexible space for up to 80 users, the design supports both large presentations and smaller collaborative groups, with adaptable furniture and integrated learning aids.

Innovative, Flexible Design

  • Multi-use configurations to support diverse learning and community activities.
  • Student-centered active learning enhanced by digital and non-digital tools.
  • Flexible technology integration for seamless transitions between activities.

Outcomes & Impact

  • Elevated student learning experiences aligned with Griffith University’s Academic Plan.
  • Optimized use of common teaching spaces and improved timetabling flexibility.
  • Increased opportunities for collaboration, creativity, and innovation across disciplines.
  • Repurposing of existing spaces reduces reliance on physical devices while maintaining high-quality learning.
