“Great job DM2 Architecture did on the UQ Avalon Theatre. Well done!! I haven’t been to the refurbished theatre. Looks like an almost total rebuilt given that the old theatre was essentially a ruin, Great rejuvenated building outcome.” Terence Fredman, University of QLD Avalon Theatre
“Responsive, respectful and flexible to help out where needed.
I appreciated Cam’s timeliness in responding to queries. I understand that the school was very happy with the building. Well done” Jennifer White, Oakey SHS MPH
“The restaurant café Patina at Alumni Court on the University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus is located in a green pocket adjacent to the Great Court buildings and is a new addition to the former heritage listed Radon Laboratory. The single storey form and highly detailed copper-bronzed materials complement the existing sandstone and copper-topped buildings. The garden courtyard levelly connects at the entry and the restaurant floats into the existing landscape, framing the view for diners and providing screened privacy from the public courtyard and walkway. The Patina is a delightful addition to the heritage listed sandstone buildings at UQ.” Australian Institute of Architects, 2023 Greater Brisbane Architecture Awards Jury
“Patina at Alumni Court, located on The University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus, provides an elevated dining experience in a space that has been deigned by the team DM2 Architecture. The restaurant, bar and private dining room are all flexible spaces that can serve different needs for meetings, private events and a busy coffee and breakfast takeaway trade. The main restaurant dining space was nestled into an established garden and provides a harmonious dining experience. The restaurant has become a firm favourite of the University and St Lucia community.” Brian Roberts, Director Custom House
“I think you have nailed it, it’s exactly what I was looking for.” Adam Dando, McDonald’s Licensee
In the first week of teaching we have had a great deal of positive feedback about the new specialist Education spaces in B Block. In particular, we received these comments from Nadyne Webb, Faculty Operations Manager for the Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice: “It’s been great to see our staff and students learning and teaching in the creative inquiry, STEM, maths and literacy rooms this week and hear their positive feedback! These spaces provide contemporary learning environments for the next generation of educators; they make QUT both a desirable study destination for pre-service teachers and demonstrate our real-world focus by enabling the modelling of innovative pedagogies. Your hard work in getting them up and running for Semester 1 is really appreciated. What also really impressed me was hearing that the materials and services were almost exclusively sourced within Australia and particularly locally. I was very impressed with the new melaleuca film design – it’s beautiful and I’m so pleased to see our new spaces implementing our Campus to Country strategy.” From all of us at QUT who have been involved in this project, our sincere thanks to you and all who were involved from DM2 Architecture and PODCON. We greatly appreciate your hard work and commitment in delivering an outstanding result in such a challenging time frame. Peter, Queensland University of Technology
“Overall it has been a pleasure to work with Terry and Brad on this complex and challenging project, and I would highly recommend them.” Karen Perkins, The University of Queensland, School of Psychology
“We’re absolutely stoked with what you’ve helped us create. Really loving living in it and having friends and family around.” Owner, Atthow Street Residence
“Last year I embarked on a major remodel of my McDonald’s Kingaroy store. I once again had the pleasure working with Brad Muller and his team at DM2 Architecture to put together a ‘knockout’ renovation plan, that would bring the restaurant to a relevant and stand out facility for the Kingaroy community. Brad was easy to work with and was able to deliver an amazing floor plan that incorporated the relevance of what McDonald’s restaurants are all about today. As a result, the restaurant has been transformed and embraced by the local community as an enjoyable and ‘go to’ place, for the whole family. Brad and his team certainly delivered on my expectations. Brad’s professional and knowledge allowed me to put my faith in him to deliver a truly remarkable and outstanding restaurant. Thanks Brad and DM2 for your vision. It has certainly paid off.” Andrea Steele, McDonald’s Licensee
“Georgia and I would like to express our sincere thanks for your creativeness, your professionalism and all round wonderful contribution with the design of our extension. Your ideas have been spectacular and will extract the opportunity of our modest holiday house and create a wonderfully inviting and functional home. You have assessed the natural environment exceptionally well and designed the extension to complement that environment and extend on Georgia’s existing decor. And you’ve kept it all within our desired budget! We would strongly recommend DM2 Architecture to anyone. We are a couple of very happy campers!” Owner, Tanglewood Residence
“I felt that the works went well and the design team complemented each other. The design looked at aspects not considered and provided a good overall outcome with a tight time restraint. Was good to work with Brad as he has a history with UQ and offers an exception service to us.” Craig Carlton, University of QLD
“Exceptional client service, exceptional knowledge, good design quality, exceptional innovation. Great use of existing materials.” Vicki Lettice, McDonalds Licensee
“Managing the expectations from both the client and the Wiggles. The project had a restricted footprint and the client wanted maximum guest impact. It was achieved by constant communication from DM2 ensuring all parties were aware of their expectations. Terry is one of the very few architects who has a thorough understanding of the theme park industry.
His overall experience from construction through to ride operational requirements can make complex jobs flow, saving the client cost, time and stress” Shane Boys, Dreamworld
